Mindset Sunday Week # 9 – How can I add value?

This is such a great question, and it should be asked in every area of your life. “How can I add value?”. How can I add value to my working life, family life and just to my general daily life? What does it mean to add value, to not only your life but also to someone else’s?

Adding value can open you up to so many rewarding things, not least of all that feel good feeling you get when you help someone, or even when you help yourself for that matter. You can add value in the smallest way possible like giving a genuine smile to someone who really needs it, to helping a colleague at work with a major issue they have been having.

Adding value is something that we have really taken to heart and try to practice every day, in every possible way so that we can try to get to the end of every day with a sense of achievement even if for just the small things we have done.

5 Ways to add more value to your life

1. Learn to love yourself

This could be one of the greatest lessons you will ever learn because learning to love yourself not only opens you up more to loving those around you but it opens you up to greater happiness within yourself. I am sure you have heard the saying that if you can’t love yourself then how can you love another, and this saying is so true for a reason. Love yourself, no one gives a better reason than Loreal when they say “Your Worth it!!”

2. Don’t sweat the small stuff

Keeping cool, calm and collected in all circumstances is easier said than done, but if you can start by not getting riled up with the little things then you will go along to learn how to stay calm in even the high-stress circumstances.

3. Find your happiness within

If you look to others to make you happy then you could be sorely disappointed, but if you look within, and start to appreciate yourself for all that you are, then you will begin to see that your happiness lies within in, you just need to take the time to look.

4. Try something new

This could be in the form of learning a new skill, trying a new haircut or getting a new job!! Cooking a different meal, trying a new route to work or reading a book you wouldn’t usually read. Anything, just try to add something new to your life and open yourself up to new possibilities!!

5. Add Value to Others!!

What better feeling could there be than the sense of helping others along their journey, and thereby bringing more joy to yours!! We have found great happiness when we have been able to help those around us, even assisting in the smallest way can deliver a great feeling of joy
